Wayne Laslie, Chief Operating Officer

Wayne Laslie joined the company as the COO in October 2004. Previously, Mr. Laslie was President and Chief Executive Officer of CapPharma Services, a global pharmaceutical marketing consulting firm that specialized in launching new products and the interim management of clients’ marketing programs in targeted therapeutic areas. From 1998 through 2003, Mr. Laslie served as Executive Vice President of Otsuka America Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In this role he oversaw Otsuka America’s commercial programs and was responsible for the launch of the company’s novel cardiovascular and anti-psychotic products. During his career, Mr. Laslie has worked in various US and international commercial and scientific positions with predecessor companies of Aventis Pharmaceuticals (for 15 years) and Pfizer (over six years). He has been responsible for numerous product launches in various therapeutic areas in the US and internationally. Mr. Laslie received his B.S. degree in Biology from Georgia State University and earned his M.S. in Microbiology from the University of Georgia.

James DeMarco, Vice President of Sales & Managed Markets

Mr. DeMarco oversees all aspects of the commercial sales organization including the sales force, sales training, and managed markets. Mr. DeMarco has over twenty years of pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience and has built several commercial sales organizations successfully from conception to launch execution. Previously, he was with Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., serving as Vice President of Sales Organization where his responsibilities included creating the vision and structure for the sales force, sales training, commercial operations, managed markets, building and executing the brand plan in the Anti-Viral therapeutic area. Prior to Idenix, Mr. DeMarco was the National Sales Director for a Specialty Sales Force he built and led in the CNS arena at Eisai Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Eisai, Mr. DeMarco held various leadership positions in sales and marketing during his 11 year tenure with Amgen, Inc with his last position being the NE Region Sales Director. He started his pharmaceutical career with Schering-Plough Inc, where he held various sales and managed market leadership positions. Mr. DeMarco received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Philosophy from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.

Jose Fojas, Vice President of Marketing

Mr. Fojas has over twenty years of pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience and was previously with Eisai, Inc., where he served as Group Franchise Director for the Critical Care and Oncology Groups. He started the hospital division at Eisai and increased the sales and marketing group from an initial 20 reps to over 110 during his tenure. In his eight years with Eisai, Mr. Fojas served in various marketing and sales management positions, including management of drugs in the acute care markets. Previously, at Purdue Pharma he managed products in acute and chronic pain markets, including the launch of OxyContin. Mr. Fojas received his Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Miami University ,Oxford, Ohio and has completed several pharmaceutical MBA courses from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Chris Pounds, Associate Director of Commercial Analytics

Mr. Pounds is responsible for forecasting and marketing research. He joined the company in 2005 after finishing an MBA at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for fifteen years, starting with the consulting firm ZS Associates in Chicago, which has a focus on sales and marketing issues in healthcare. Mr. Pounds’ responsibilities at ZS included sales force optimization and forecasting. His major clients were Roche, Biogen, SmithKline Beecham and Eli Lilly, among others. When he left ZS to start the MBA program at Berkeley, he had completed forecasts in 40 different therapy areas and had worked with 25 different clients in healthcare.   At Berkeley, Mr. Pounds was selected for the 2004 internship program at Deutsche Post WorldNet and worked at DHL European headquarters in Brussels.  He also attended IESE in Barcelona as an exchange student.   Mr. Pounds also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colorado College in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Washington, Seattle.

John A. Tatum III, Vice President of Supply Chain Management

Mr. Tatum is charged with building Myriad’s supply chain function which will ultimately consist of establishing processes and procedures and coordinating all commercial supply chain matters for the company both internally and externally. He has a proven track record in improving customer service, delivering continual cost reduction and increasing asset effectiveness across a global supply networks. He was previously SVP / Head of Global Operations for Novartis’ “over the counter” business unit supporting sales of $2.5B across all major global markets. Prior to this role he was responsible for supply chain management of over $35B in global sales at Pfizer and managing teams through two major corporate transitions. He also has extensive experience leading management consulting engagements with AT Kearney and Gemini focused on production and distribution process improvements. John has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
